We are seeking a motivated and proactive Junior IT Operations Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and security of IT systems in a production-critical solar manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational experience in systems administration, networking, and automation who are eager to grow and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will collaborate closely with Operations, MES, and Security teams to ensure system availability, scalability, and compliance across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & System Support
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premises and cloud-based servers, networks, and infrastructure
- Manage system upgrades, patching, backups, and recovery processes
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for critical systems
Automation & DevOps
- Automate routine operational tasks using scripting and configuration tools
- Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
- Work with MES and SecOps teams to maintain system integrity, security, and compliance
- Assist in incident response, root cause analysis, and issue remediation
Documentation & Deployment
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and configurations
- Support deployment, integration, and validation of new technologies
Support & Operations
Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or DevOps roles
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments
- Experience with VMware-based virtualization
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Basic to intermediate scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, or Python)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, SolarWinds)
- Exposure to CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, or CompTIA Server+
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management concepts
- Experience with Aruba networking equipment and FortiGate firewalls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

- On-call support required as part of role
