Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods seeks an Assistant Inventory Planner to assist with allocation and replenishment strategies for our less complex businesses. You will help determine how to optimize inventory across stores, support financial goals, and ensure new stores open with the right assortments and levels.

Collaborating with Merchandise Planners and Merchants, you will maintain appropriate in-store inventory, analyze stock levels, and execute plans to improve turns and margins.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills essential.
• Familiarity with JDA Allocations/ Fulfillment a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Customer-service oriented and team player.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.

Responsibilities

• Allocate bulk purchase orders using Allocations; place weekly replenishment orders.
• Maintain store-level inventory to support sales, margin and turns.
• Collaborate with AR Manager to implement allocation and replenishment strategies.
• Review inventory reports and address instock issues promptly.
• Analyze product, size, and color inventory needs with planners.
• Execute new store plans ensuring correct assortment and levels.
• Identify and act on inventory re-balancing opportunities.
• Communicate store needs to Inventory Planner/AR Manager.
• Manage item eligibility through ITEL for proper assortment.
