Business of Home in Palm Beach County is seeking a Junior Designer to support a Lead Designer on full-service residential projects from concept through installation. You’ll research and source furniture, lighting, finishes, plumbing, and accessories, prepare materials for four core client meetings, and help with measurements, floor plans, elevations, and schedules.
You’ll gain experience across all project phases and grow toward leading your own projects.
We're hiring a Junior Designer to work directly with one of our Lead Designers on full-service residential projects, from concept through installation. Most of our work is new construction, large renovations, and full furnishings for waterfront and equestrian homes in Palm Beach County. This is a support role. You won't be running projects on your own yet, but you'll be part of every phase, building the experience to lead your own projects down the road. A lot of your time will go to sourcing. You'll research furniture, lighting, finishes, plumbing, and accessories, get pricing, lead times, and specs from vendors, and help with material selections and samples. You'll prepare materials for our four core client meetings (Kickoff, Concept, Working, and Final) and come to client meetings, vendor appointments, and installs as needed. You'll create and revise floor plans, furniture plans, and elevations in SketchUp or AutoCAD, put together finish schedules and spec packages, and help measure and document existing spaces. On procurement, you'll handle vendor quotes, reserves, and lead times, prepare purchase orders and invoices in Design Files, and track orders and deliveries. You'll work with receivers, installers, and contractors to keep things on schedule, and flag delays to your Lead before they become client problems. You'll also keep project files and Google Drive organized, manage sample orders, returns, and the sample library, and help with shipping, receiving, and install prep. Pay is a $60,000 base salary plus tiered profit share on every furnishings project you support. We also offer unlimited time off, a hybrid schedule with regular in-studio time, a phone stipend, continuing education support, and a dog-friendly office. This role is meant to grow. As you build experience, there's a real path to leading your own projects and client relationships.
