JOB DESCRIPTION

Working with the Principal Designer at Shalena Smith Interiors in Porter Ranch, CA. The Junior Designer provides administrative and design support on all phases of high-end, residential interior design projects. This part-time position (30 hours with potential for growth) requires 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, knowledge of interior design, strong organizational skills, time management, documentation, and the ability to follow through on assignments under pressure and deadlines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

1. Assist the Principal Designer with various design and administrative tasks related to all phases of luxury residential design, from onboarding to project completion.
2. Gather detailed information, finish samples, specifications, and quotes for accurate design proposals, including occasional sample and material pickups.
3. Assist with product sourcing.
4. Assist with preparing client presentations.
5. Serve as a point of contact for client and contractor communications.
6. Maintain project information such as orders, quotes, and client-related data.
7. Ability to lift small to medium items up to 25 lbs.
8. Excellent technical skills using SketchUp; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
9. Proficiency with computer programs such as Canva, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Design Files, and various Mac applications.
