Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Entry-Level Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer to help deliver critical water and wastewater projects. You will develop instrumentation designs, specify controls, and support startup activities alongside experienced engineers.

You’ll collaborate with process, electrical, mechanical, and commissioning teams to meet client goals, gain exposure to cybersecurity considerations, and learn emerging digital solutions shaping the water industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer or related engineering field.
• Understanding of instrumentation, process controls, PLCs and SCADA concepts.
• Exposure to water/wastewater or industrial processes through coursework or internships.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review P&IDs and instrument specifications for water facilities.
• Design PLC and SCADA-based control systems and network architectures.
• Prepare control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and commissioning support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet client goals, budgets, and schedules.
