Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Entry-Level Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer to develop solutions for critical water and wastewater infrastructure. You will work with experienced engineers through all project phases—from planning to startup—designing I&C systems, preparing diagrams, and supporting system integration.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance, optimize treatment processes, and advance cybersecurity and digital solutions in the water industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer or related engineering field.
• Understanding of instrumentation, process controls, PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networking concepts.
• Exposure to water, wastewater, or industrial process systems via coursework, internships, or co-op.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review P&ID diagrams and instrument specifications.
• Design PLC and SCADA-based control systems and network architectures.
• Create control panel layouts and wiring diagrams; assist with system integration, testing, and startup.
• Collaborate with process, electrical, mechanical, civil, and commissioning teams to deliver integrated solutions.
