Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking a Junior Inside Plant (ISP) Technician to join our Energy Services team and support data centers and critical infrastructure across the United States. This hands-on role offers growth into DC power and related infrastructure.

You will travel up to 100% nationwide, install and maintain telecom and data center equipment, and work alongside experienced technicians to expand your ISP skills into DC power environments.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience or relevant technical training in ISP, telecommunications, fiber, or data center installation.
  • Experience identifying, measuring, labeling, routing, dressing, and terminating cable.
  • Familiarity with fiber, copper cabling, equipment racks/cabinets, and cable tray.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, installation drawings, and schematics.

Responsibilities

Your Impact

We are seeking a Junior Inside Plant (ISP) Technician to join our Energy Services team. This is a hands-on field role supporting customers in data centers and other critical infrastructure environments across the United States.

We are looking for candidates with a foundation in ISP, telecommunications, fiber, or data center installation. You do not need to come to us with extensive critical-power experience. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and have the opportunity to expand your skills into DC power and other critical-power infrastructure while building on your ISP experience.

This is a nationwide field role requiring up to 100% travel across the United States.

Core Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites nationwide as part of a field installation team supporting data center and critical infrastructure projects.
  • Install, remove, and maintain telecommunications and data center equipment.
  • Install and route fiber, copper, and power cabling, including measuring, labeling, securing, dressing, and terminating cable.
  • Assist with installation of equipment racks and cabinets, cable tray, fiber systems, and AC/DC power infrastructure.
  • Perform equipment installation according to project specifications, customer requirements, and applicable telecommunications standards.
  • Read and follow installation drawings, schematics, job specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Safely use hand and power tools, ladders, lifts, test equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work, staging, and storage areas.
  • Follow all company and customer safety requirements and procedures.
  • Develop additional skills in DC power and critical-power systems through hands-on field experience.

Core Experience

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience or relevant technical training in ISP, telecommunications, fiber, structured cabling, low voltage, or data center installation.
  • Experience identifying, measuring, labeling, routing, dressing, and terminating cable.
  • Familiarity with fiber, copper cabling, equipment racks/cabinets, and cable tray.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, installation drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 100% nationwide based on project needs.
  • Data center installation experience is preferred.
  • DC power or other critical-power experience is preferred.
  • AT&T Central Office installation experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with TP76300 installation standards is preferred.
  • Interest in developing skills in power and critical infrastructure systems.

Specific responsibilities may vary based on project, customer, and business needs.

Physical / Work Environment

  • Work is performed in data centers and other critical infrastructure environments in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working on concrete floors.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of 6–30 feet.
  • Requires use of hand and power tools such as drills, saws, wrenches, and measuring tools.
  • Use equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and lifts when required.

Compensation: $25.00-$40.00 hourly/DOE and Per Diem

Base Pay Range

$25 - $40 USD
