Job summary

TechSurSolutions is seeking a Junior Infrastructure Engineer to support cloud and on-premises infrastructure for a USCIS federal program in the DC metropolitan area. Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, IT Operations, or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Basic administration knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server environments.
• Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN).
• Familiarity with scripting and Git.version control.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Support Linux and/or Windows servers, virtual machines, storage, network components, and related infrastructure services.
• Assist senior engineers with provisioning, configuration, upgrades, patching, and ongoing maintenance.
• Monitor infrastructure availability, system performance, capacity, and health using enterprise tools.
• Troubleshoot server, OS, network, and infrastructure issues.
• Support cloud services in AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Assist with IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps with engineering teams.
• Assist with containers using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift where applicable.
• Support IAM activities and RBAC.
• Assist with vulnerability remediation and security updates.
• Participate in incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
