Job summary

Columbia Helicopters is seeking an Health, Safety & Environment Technician I to support the HSE department in daily programs, policies, and training. You will assist with waste management, environmental monitoring, and field sampling under supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, labeling waste, and reporting non‑compliance. A strong emphasis on safety, training, and cross‑facility support will be part of this role. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • OSHA 30 HR General Industry and/or HAZWOPER 40HR preferred but not required.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidance (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) under guidance of senior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Support management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct hazardous waste removal and decontamination of facility equipment.
  • Prepare drums for reuse or recycling; triple-rinsing and de-heading.
  • Assist with field sampling and environmental monitoring.
  • Collect, transport, label, and dispose of waste materials.
  • Provide departments with HSE-approved containers and proper labeling.
  • Maintain records of environmental tasks and inspections.
  • Identify and report non-compliance or hazards to management.
  • Assist in safety training and equipment inspections.
  • Travel locally to support safety efforts at other facilities.
