Colliers Engineering & Design in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an entry-level highway/roadway engineer who has recently graduated in civil engineering to start a career in transportation design.

You will contribute to projects from local roadway improvements to major state initiatives, supporting planning, alignment studies, and construction document preparation while learning design alternatives and balancing costs with environmental and utility impacts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• EIT certification is preferred.
• Increasing proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, principles and practices.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in highway/roadway design.
• Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
• Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
• Assist with other project related tasks such as permit applications, material testing, drawings and CAD work.
• Exercise judgement on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned.
• Work within MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
