Job summary

Littlefield ISD seeks a caring and self-motivated Special Education Self-Contained Paraprofessional for the Littlefield Junior High location. The role involves meeting the academic, physical, and behavioral needs of students with disabilities in a self-contained setting.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP accommodations, supporting behavior interventions, and assisting with transitions and ADL tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and positive behavioral interventions to students with disabilities in a self-contained setting.
• Routinely implement individualized instructional programs (IEP accommodations, Behavior Intervention Plan) as developed by the ARD committee.
• Facilitate skill development in social appropriateness, anger management, and conflict resolution for students with disabilities.
• Routinely observe and record behavior data for professional staff.
• Provide feedback on student progress to teachers and administrators.
• Carry out instructional programs and lesson plans designed by the supervising teacher.
• Be discreet and respectful of confidential information as required by governance.
• Assist students with transitions between learning environments.
• Assist students in hygienic/ADL needs (hand washing, eating, toileting, diapering).
• Manage improper behavior and intervene in crisis situations as trained.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
