The ideal candidate will hold a valid Iowa Coaching License and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and instructional skills.

Qualifications

Valid Iowa Coaching License is required.
Previous coaching experience is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules, and coaching techniques.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire student athletes.
Commitment to promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and player development.

Responsibilities

Design and implement age-appropriate training programs for junior high softball.
Provide skill instruction and development for individuals and team.
Foster a positive, inclusive environment encouraging growth.
Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
Coordinate practices and game schedules with the Activities Director.
Manage equipment inventory and facility maintenance as needed.
Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
Recruit and retain athletes for the program.
Mentor assistant coaches and promote academic success and character development.
Maintain open communication with players, parents, and administrators.
