Qualifications:

  • Licensure
  • Standard teaching license in the appropriate area, grade, or content area
  • Accepted into an Alternative Licensure Program through DESE
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in grade level, school, and District teams

Reports to: Principal

Supervises: Not applicable

Terms of Employment: The contract length will be 190 days. The salary schedule will be A & J.

Evaluation: Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, performed by the building-level principal with assistance from the assistant principal.

Job Goal: The classroom teacher will strive to teach and educate students according to Arkansas state standards and the curriculum developed by Conway Public Schools, providing a rich educational experience tailored to individual student needs, abilities, and potential.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
  • Plans, prepares, and delivers lessons aligned with District curricula.
  • Uses various instructional strategies to meet different learning styles and student needs.
  • Stays updated on standards, curriculum, resources, and education trends.
  • Integrates appropriate technology into instruction.
  • Assesses and reports on student development, progress, and behavior.
  • Maintains a mindset of continual learning and reflection.
  • Uses effective classroom management techniques to ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Communicates regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and needs.
  • Participates in collaborative planning, intervention, and meetings at the building and district levels.
  • Utilizes diverse assessment tools to monitor progress and identify needs.
  • Maintains accurate records in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
  • Ensures fairness and impartiality in all student-related matters.
  • Provides supervision for students at all times when entrusted with their care.
  • Engages in professional development to improve practice.
  • Builds and maintains professional relationships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
