Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking Junior Health Physics Technicians to provide Radiation Protection coverage at U.S. nuclear power plants. You will perform surveys, support ALARA planning, and help maintain site safety across multiple sites.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, must complete training per OSHA/DOT/EPA regulations, and meet the requirements for a Level II Nuclear Access Badge with unescorted access where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Workers must train following applicable local, state, and federal OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations.
• Satisfy all requirements required to obtain a Level II Nuclear Access Badge.
• Meet all applicable requirements to maintain unescorted access.

Responsibilities

• Provide Radiation Protection coverage and oversight as required for power-plant activates.
• In addition to providing job coverage, certain routine tasks may be assigned determined by individual certifications, qualifications, and skills.
• radiation and contamination surveys
• material and equipment surveys
• material escort
• Help with ALARA planning
• Help with decontamination activities
• support of Site Emergency Plan
