Job summary

GEI is seeking a Grade 1 Staff Engineer - Trenchless, Tunneling, and Geotech for Golden, CO, Fort Collins, CO, or Boise, ID. This full-time entry-level role offers mentorship while gaining field and office experience in civil, geotechnical, geological, and tunnel/trenchless design.

You will perform geotechnical investigations, create AutoCAD drawings, document activities, conduct design calculations, and support project engineers and managers with strong collaboration and communication expected.

Qualifications

• Qualified to become exam-based Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
• Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills.
• Proficient with AutoCAD LTE, Mathcad, and Excel.
• Familiarity with FE exam requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical investigations including field drilling and data collection.
• Create design and construction drawings using AutoCAD under supervision.
• Document field and office activities for project records.
• Conduct geotechnical, tunnel, and trenchless design calculations with Mathcad and Excel.
• Support project engineers and managers with various tasks.
