Job summary

Knight Piésold USA is seeking a geotechnical engineer to assist senior engineers on diverse projects worldwide, spanning mining, environment, and hydropower. You will participate in site investigations, lab coordination, data analyses, and drafting. Travel to outdoor sites will be required.

Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree with geotechnical emphasis, 0–4 years' experience, and familiarity with MS Office and geotechnical software; willingness to travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical emphasis; MSc preferred.
• 0–4 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of geotechnical fundamentals, drafting, testing, and general civil engineering design and construction practices.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings; attention to detail.
• English communication proficiency; Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior geotechnical engineers with site investigations and lab coordination.
• Interpret and analyze geotechnical data to classify materials and support design.
• Oversee construction/QA-QC on earthwork projects such as waste rock facilities and tailings facilities.
• Prepare proposals, bid documents, and capital cost estimates; prepare design reports.
• Assist in civil layouts using computer-based modeling software.
