Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Geotechnical Engineer for our Las Cruces, NM office to contribute to Earth & Environment projects. You will support design, development, and construction of infrastructure in public and private sectors.

You will assist in data collection, site investigations, and basic analysis under supervision, while developing proficiency in geotechnical software and report writing to meet industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0–1 year of relevant post-education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build processes.
• Familiarity with remediation, permitting, and construction laws and codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication for engineering audiences.
• Detail-oriented, able to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficiency with technical writing and standard office software.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assist data collection and analysis from site samples and GIS data.
• Maintain quality control for measurements.
• Assist with geotechnical engineering work on site conditions and foundation analysis.
• Perform routine geotechnical functions and provide entry-level technical support.
• Prepare documentation using electronic systems, drawings and field logs.
• Ensure safety guidelines and compliance procedures are followed.
