Job summary

WSP in Las Cruces, NM is seeking an Early Career Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to Earth & Environment projects. This role involves site investigations, data analysis, and assisting with design tasks under supervision.

You will support the evaluation of soil and rock properties, perform basic geotechnical analyses, and help prepare reports while adhering to safety standards and project schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with design/build processes and related regulations.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, GIS, and subsurface information for project development.
  • Maintain quality control standards for measurements and analyses.
  • Assist with geotechnical engineering work related to site conditions, soil foundations, settlements, slope stability, and related issues.
  • Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety considerations.
