Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Geotechnical Engineer in our Wexford, PA office to join the Earth & Environment team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience on geotechnical projects across oil & gas, transportation, mining, and other sectors, with both office work and field activities.

You will participate in site investigations, data evaluation, borehole logging, and prepare reports under senior supervision.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
0–1 year post-education experience.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
Familiar with design/build processes.
Knowledge of remediation and construction codes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team.
Proficient with technical writing and office tools.
Commitment to safety and policy adherence.
Willingness to travel and field assignments.

Responsibilities

Work with project teams on geotechnical projects including field observations and data evaluation.
Conduct field assignments: site mapping, drilling supervision, borehole and test pit logging.
Perform analyses, designs, and recommendations.
Prepare geotechnical reports, logs, cross-sections, and cost estimates.
Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
Follow safety guidelines and document procedures in field and office.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.
