Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Geotechnical Engineer in our Wexford, PA office to join the Earth & Environment team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience on geotechnical projects across oil & gas, transportation, mining, and other sectors, with both office work and field activities.

You will participate in site investigations, data evaluation, borehole logging, and prepare reports under senior supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 0–1 year post-education experience.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Familiar with design/build processes.
  • Knowledge of remediation and construction codes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Proficient with technical writing and office tools.
  • Commitment to safety and policy adherence.
  • Willingness to travel and field assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project teams on geotechnical projects including field observations and data evaluation.
  • Conduct field assignments: site mapping, drilling supervision, borehole and test pit logging.
  • Perform analyses, designs, and recommendations.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, logs, cross-sections, and cost estimates.
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Follow safety guidelines and document procedures in field and office.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.
