Ayoroa | Simmons, LLC is seeking an entry-level Geomatics Technician I to join the Reality Capture group. You will ramp into independent point cloud registration and related workflows, learning through hands-on work with Leica Register360, Cyclone, and NavVis Ivion.

The role requires a technical background in engineering or geomatics, strong data discipline, and willingness to travel up to 50%. This is a growth position with exposure to field surveys and multi-platform processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geomatics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience in a technical, data-intensive, or built-environment-adjacent role (project controls, field surveying, or similar).
• Proficiency in data workflow tools (e.g., scripting, databases, automation).
• Strong documentation habits and QA/QC discipline; ability to learn new specialized software quickly.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsabilités

• Import, register, and QC scan projects in Leica Register360 and Cyclone.
• Support point cloud registration and processing using NavVis Ivion.
• Shadow and progressively own data processing tasks across platforms.
• Assist in review of OPUS reports and control point observations for accuracy.
• Support review of aerial photogrammetry and drone outputs (orthomosaics, dense point clouds, DSMs/DTMs).
• Identify opportunities to automate file handling and QA/QC workflows.
• Improve reliability and repeatability of data outputs across projects.
• Maintain proper file organization and delivery standards for teams.
• Strengthen documentation so processing decisions and QC checks are traceable.
• Assist with terrestrial 3D laser scanning in varied field environments.
• Assist with control, topographic, and existing-conditions surveys and field procedures.
• Coordinate field activities with internal teams and project stakeholders.
• Maintain scanning/survey equipment and field safety practices.
• Contribute to additional strategic assignments from leadership.
