Ayoroa | Simmons, LLC is seeking a Geomatics Technician I to join our Reality Capture Department in Arlington, VA. This entry point focuses on point cloud registration, data QA, and learning advanced geomatics software while supporting field surveys and data automation.

The role requires a BS in engineering or geomatics, 2+ years in a technical setting, and willingness to travel up to 50%. You will work with Leica Register360, Cyclone, and NavVis Ivion to deliver accurate spatial data for

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering, geomatics, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in a technical, data-intensive, or built-environment role.
• Proficiency with data workflow tools (scripting, database, automation).
• Strong documentation habits and QA/QC discipline; ability to learn new software quickly.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Point Cloud Registration & Processing: import, register, QA in Leica Register360 and Cyclone; support NavVis Ivion.
• Data & Workflow Automation: identify and implement automation for file handling and QC.
• Field Support: assist with terrestrial 3D laser scanning and related surveys; coordinate field activities.
