Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Geologist to join our Environmental Services Team in Hartford, CT.

Under direct supervision, performs basic complexity geologic/seismic evaluations/fault rupture hazard and slope stability investigations/hydrogeologic analysis (aquifer test analysis; geochemical analysis; geotechnical analysis; contaminant transport analysis etc.) in both surface and subsurface geologic conditions pertaining to water supply, contaminant and/or geotechnical assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline.
• Willingness to travel 20–40% to project sites.
• Dri ver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Well geologic logging, water sampling, surface geological mapping, aquifer testing and/or soils characterization and data compilation.
• Preparing cross sections, iso-concentration maps, and QA/QC analysis.
• Developing draft evaluations for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ensuring that firm policies and practices are followed on all assessments.
• Contributing to Talent Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation.
• Submitting technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
• Performs other duties as required.
