Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Junior Forward Deployed Engineer to architect and deliver high‑fidelity data pipelines for AI initiatives. You will bridge legacy on‑prem systems with Snowflake and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) to power ML models, feature stores, and generative AI applications.

As a day‑one contributor, you will design scalable data workflows, optimize performance, and collaborate with Data Science and MLOps teams to translate evolving requirements into production‑ready data solutions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and maintains resilient ETL/ELT pipelines from on-premise systems and cloud services to Snowflake and AI services.
• Develops feature stores and datasets for ML workflows; ensures data is clean, versioned, and reproducible.
• Architects data pipelines for generative AI use cases, including extraction, transformation, chunking, and loading into vector databases across AWS/Azure.
• Acts as a Snowflake power user, implementing Snowflake patterns, Snowpipe automation, and optimized compute/storage for high-concurrency analytics.
• Executes non-invasive data extraction from legacy systems while preserving stability.
• Designs and manages cross-platform data workflows using Airflow, AWS Step Functions, and Azure Data Factory for multi-cloud sync.
• Collaborates with IT, DBAs, security teams to resolve connectivity and access controls while obtaining production approvals for new integrations.
• Implements automated data quality, validation, and observability to detect drift and anomalies.
• Drives efficiency in storage, compute usage, and query performance across Snowflake, AWS, and Azure.
