Job summary

TechOp Solutions is seeking a FOIA Analyst to support the review and processing of routine and moderately complex FOIA requests. The analyst will identify responsive records, recommend redactions, draft correspondence, update case files, and help prepare accurate records-release packages.

In this role, you will review requests, process cases, assess document responsiveness and potential exemptions, and collaborate with team members and records custodians to gather required information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 2+ years of FOIA experience.
• Knowledge of FOIA, Privacy Act, and federal record-disclosure requirements.
• Experience handling sensitive or PI information.
• Strong writing, research and data-entry abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review assigned FOIA requests and identify responsive records.
• Process routine, open, and backlogged FOIA cases per internal procedures.
• Review documents for responsiveness, duplication, sensitivity, and exemptions.
• Recommend redactions and withholding determinations under guidance.
• Use approved redaction software to prepare records for release.
• Draft standard correspondence using FOIA templates.
• Upload records and notes into the case management system.
• Coordinate with team members and records custodians to obtain information.
• Track case deadlines, volumes, and processing activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
