Job summary

M.C. Dean is looking for an Engineer 1 to support life-safety systems design, installation, and testing across fire detection, alarm, mass notification, and related disciplines. You will gather requirements, prepare shop drawings, coordinate with teams, and ensure quality during fabrication, testing, and commissioning phases.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a related discipline and a strong foundation in NFPA codes, building standards, and life-safety practices. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Fire Protection, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the in-house testing (PITCO) and commissioning phases.
• Program and troubleshoot fire detection and alarm systems, in PITCO and onsite.
• Provide training on the operations and maintenance of the system and produce close-out documentation.
• Support the day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project.
• Perform site surveys, and produce survey reports.
• Produce takeoff sheets, bill of materials, and contribute to project proposals.
• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
• Uphold the business unit and company culture, and follow processes and standards.
• Communicate direction effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
