Placements24 is recruiting for a Junior Financial Accountant in Upington, Northern Cape. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in financial reporting and day-to-day accounting tasks, with comprehensive training and mentorship provided to help you grow in your career.

You will assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, GL reconciliations, and budgeting tasks while gaining exposure to tax compliance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Basic understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Internship or prior accounting internship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Help manage and maintain fixed asset registers.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and compliance documentation.
• Participate in internal control procedures and documentation.
• Contribute to improving accounting processes and efficiency.
