Job summary

GAP Solutions Inc. is seeking a Junior Human Resource Specialist to support managers, program staff and customers on the full range of HR topics. The role covers staffing, classification, benefits, recruitment, compensation, SES programs, and labor relations for DHS ICE operations.

The candidate will handle payroll actions, office administration and policy guidance. Responsibilities include drafting SOPs, managing records, assisting with audits, and coordinating meetings and travel.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of federal HR experience as equivalent.
• Delegated Examining Certification and/or HRM Certificate preferred.
• Proficient in the full Microsoft Office Suite; strong communication & presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Process personnel and payroll actions, key payroll docs, and leave audits.
• Create vacancy, retirement and payroll folders.
• Research waiver/hearing requests and scan docs to personnel systems.
• Draft SOPs and assist with pay/benefits guidance for managers.
• Provide HR guidance to applicants and staff; maintain employee files.
• Coordinate calendars, screen calls, arrange travel, meetings, and travel itineraries.
• Monitor office supplies and manage SharePoint uploads and SOP drafts.
• Assist with pay, leave, time, attendance, FERCCA cases and audits.
