Job summary

Sun Technologies in New York City is seeking a Junior Designer to support multiple fashion brands by completing collection work. You will collaborate with lead designers and NA product strategy teams to translate concepts into color and material directions.

Ideal candidates hold a Design degree, have at least 6 months of eyewear or accessories design experience, and are proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, PowerPoint, and optionally 3D design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 6 months of design experience in Eyewear or Accessories; including intern or temp work.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator; other Adobe programs a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with 3D Design Software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in generating fully detailed color CAD renderings for color review of eyewear collections per licensor requests.
• Assist NA lead designers & strategy teams in conceptualizing color and material direction for collections.
• Research domestic and competitive markets to identify new products and market trends while maintaining brand identity and business strategy.
• Support explorative development of materials and techniques with lead designer, product strategy and Italy teams.
• On-the-job training with NA and Italy teams on technical limitations and specifications of eyewear.
• Opportunity to assist brands in collection sketch development & special company-wide design projects.
• Executes to timelines and provides timely solutions.

The Junior Designer will be charged with supporting Coach, MK, RLG and Tory brands in completing collection work; this includes close collaboration with lead designers and N.A. product strategy teams
