Job summary

Perrone Construction, a long‑standing Sarasota builder, seeks an Assistant Estimator/Purchaser to support the Senior Estimator from preconstruction through procurement. This in‑office role offers a path to grow within a high‑end custom home boutique.

You will develop cost estimates, take-offs, and manage bids; prepare subcontracts and purchase orders; and collaborate to keep projects on budget. 2–3 years’ experience or a Construction Management degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in residential construction estimating, purchasing, or related field.
• Or recent graduate with a degree in Construction Management or similar encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing accurate, well-organized cost estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs from plans and specifications.
• Support value engineering through detailed cost comparisons.
• Price owner selections, upgrades, and scope changes.
• Prepare and issue subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor/vendor bids.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Track and manage change orders and ensure pricing accuracy.
