Job summary

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) is seeking a Jr. Engineer to support fieldwork and remediation project activities in New Jersey.

This entry-level role requires a detail-oriented team player with strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving and time management skills. The position reports to a Principal Engineer and works 50% in the office and 50% in the field within NJ, under supervision of senior staff and field technicians.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and writing abilities; detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to work independently with initiative and strong time management.
• Familiarity with basic field safety practices and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support groundwater and vapor treatment system calculations.
• Tabulate and evaluate remediation system data and lab data; assist with reports.
• Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist subcontractor scope of work development and coordination.
• Support cost estimates and proposal efforts.
• Assist with NJDEP permit applications and compliance reports.
• Develop and SOPs (standard operating procedures).
• Coordinate health and safety field observations and documentation.
• Assist with field O&M tasks for remediation systems and data collection.
• Conduct field work including sampling and system maintenance as needed.
