Job summary

Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) is seeking a Junior Engineer to support the safe and efficient operation of state ferries. You will assist with maintenance, monitoring, and repair of onboard mechanical and electrical systems as part of the vessel’s engineering team.

Qualifications

  • Maintenance, monitoring and repair of onboard mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with propulsion systems, generators, hydraulics and auxiliary equipment is preferred.
  • Compliance with US Coast Guard and maritime safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance and repair of shipboard engineering systems.
  • Support vessel engineering team in 24/7 operations.
