Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a technician to support manufacturing test operations in West Lafayette, IN. You will work with bed-of-nails and SPEA flying probe systems, load fixtures and programs, and help ensure test configurations are correct for production.

You will troubleshoot routine equipment, assist with setup and calibration, collect performance data, and collaborate with engineers and manufacturing staff to minimize downtime and maintain quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Electronics Technology or related field.
• Ability to follow technical procedures and work instructions.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to learn new equipment and processes.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing test operations with bed-of-nails and SPEA flying probe systems.
• Assist with loading and verifying test fixtures, programs and test configurations.
• Perform product changeovers and ensure test equipment is production-ready.
• Troubleshoot routine test equipment and processes; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Investigate circuit board defects to identify root cause.
• Assist engineers with test system setup, validation, maintenance and continuous improvement.
