Qualifications

• Read drawings, sketches, and plans to determine work procedures and tools.
• Understand safety rules and work practices for electrical tasks.
• Handle hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow written and oral instructions from supervision.
• Collaborate with craftspersons to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Learn to interpret drawings, sketches, software, and plans to determine best procedures and tools.
• Assist skilled craftspeople measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations.
• Assist with installation of control and distribution equipment and secure in place.
• Assist with testing and startup of systems and ensure circuit continuity and safety.
• Observe operations to identify hazards and determine adjustments, relocation, or replacement if needed.
• May pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and equipment.
• Work with high and low voltage systems.
• Assist with disassembly and repair of defective equipment or systems.
• Learn to use electrical and mechanical hand, power, hydraulic, pneumatic tools.
