Job summary

Peraton Labs is seeking a highly analytical Junior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This entry-level role focuses on mapping electronic designs, analyzing RF characteristics, and delivering clear, detailed technical reports for customers.

You will gain hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators while collaborating with experienced engineers to tackle challenging problems and learn new electronic technologies.

Qualifications

• US citizen with active Top-Secret clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field; no postgraduate experience
• Proficiency in interpreting and understanding electronic schematics
• Solid understanding of electronic components and circuit analysis
• Hands‑on experience using lab benchtop equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators)
• Foundational understanding of RF communications
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART bus protocols
• Capable of basic RF measurements (e.g., occupied bandwidth, average power) using standard test equipment
• Ability to write complex technical reports

Responsibilities

• Characterize and document electronic systems; create schematics and perform lab tests
• Analyze bus protocols such as SPI, I2C and UART
• Characterize RF signals and measure basic parameters
• Decode modulation types to extract data
• Incorporate characterization data into reports for customers
• Research emerging technologies and collaborate with engineers
