Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full-Time Early Career Electrical Engineer (Distribution) for our Saint Louis, Missouri office. This role supports the Power and Energy Team in due diligence, design, and construction for utility and industrial projects.

Responsibilities include assisting with substation design, data collection, and documentation, complying with IEEE/NERC standards, and contributing to project development. Occasional travel may be required, and the candidate should be US-resident.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 0–1 year of post-education experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical design for power delivery projects.
• Knowledge of IEEE/NERC regulations and related standards.
• Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD Electrical; CADD).
• Ability to work under supervision and in a team.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist with substation component data collection and procurement pricing.
• Support design of single-line and three-line diagrams and bus layouts.
• Develop calculations for loads, sizing, voltage drop, and grounding.
• Prepare documentation using electronic systems and field logs.
• Conform designs to safety rules, permits, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the Power and Energy Team to meet project goals.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree

Engineer in Training Certification
