Job summary

Ara seeks a Junior Electrical Engineer to join our national defense team in Indian Head, MD. The role focuses on evaluating test equipment, ordnance, and test facilities for fault tolerance and electrical safety, while collaborating with engineers across disciplines onsite.

The position requires US citizenship, ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance, and residency in the US, with an anticipated salary range of $75,000-$90,000. This is an onsite role at NSWC Indian Head.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health, industrial hygiene, engineering, chemistry or biological sciences, plus 0-2 years of related work experience.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Experience with process safety and material handling ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, dynamic environments, managing rapid changes in program scope, funding, and priorities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to tailor presentations and reports to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to undergo and pass a Department of Transportation compliant medical physical exam.
• Ability to undergo and pass a drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate test equipment, ordnance and test facility / ship for fault tolerance and ensure electrical safety.
• Design, planning and oversee manufacture, construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical components and systems.
• Collaborate with engineers in other disciplines to augment production size and value.
