Job summary

INFICON, Inc. in Syracuse, NY seeks an entry-level Electrical Engineer to help design precision electronics for sensors and instrumentation, from breadboards to production, tackling analog and digital circuits, embedded systems, and PCB layouts with a cross-functional group.

You’ll learn from senior engineers, assume increasing ownership, and contribute to projects across RF, power, EMI, and validation testing in the lab, while applying Agile practices and a lean, hypothesis-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in analog and digital circuit design.
• Hands-on lab work with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence OrCAD.
• Experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of electronic subsystems from schematic capture to PCB layout and production launch.
• Build, test, and debug breadboards and prototypes; perform validation measurements in the lab.
• Support sustaining engineering by troubleshooting field issues and managing component obsolescence.
• Write and maintain design documentation, test plans, and test reports.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate circuits into larger architectures.
• Work in a cross-functional Agile team and participate in sprints to iterate prototypes.
• Learn and apply lean, hypothesis-driven approaches and explore AI-enabled tools.
