Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer Chiller Systems in Charlotte, NC. You will design electrical schematics, specify components, and ensure compliance with NEC/IEC while supporting panel fabrication and commissioning for datacenter HVAC applications.

The role emphasizes hands-on panel design, wiring diagrams, and coordination with vendors to deliver reliable electrical solutions for complex chillers and HVAC integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years in electrical design for industrial or HVAC systems.
• Experience designing schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and IEC standards in industrial/datacenter settings.
• Experience specifying breakers, contactors, relays, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and HMI interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics for control panels and power panels.
• Specify electrical components including breakers, contactors, relays, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
• Ensure load balancing, fault protection, and redundancy in designs.
• Coordinate with vendors for panel fabrication and installation.
• Verify compliance with NEC and IEC standards for datacenter requirements.
• Develop wiring diagrams and panel layouts for chiller control and power systems.
• Support testing, troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
• Prepare electrical design packages and vendor evaluation reports.
• Provide installation and commissioning support documentation for field teams.
• Deliver system performance validation reports showing design conformance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical with HVAC systems.
