Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to read single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layouts.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate electrical engineering activities for steam and power generation projects
  • Develop electrical specifications for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, and other electrical equipment as required
  • Develop bid packages for electrical contractors and review submitted bids
  • Review vendor quotations for electrical equipment to verify compliance with project requirements
  • Develop and maintain Revit and AutoCAD drawings, including single line diagrams, cabling plans, wiring diagrams, equipment location plans, lighting layouts, grounding plans, lightning protection plans, electrical underground drawings, and cable tray layouts
  • Coordinate electrical drawings with other project disciplines to identify and resolve design conflicts
  • Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, constructability, and compliance with project standards
  • Use Navisworks Manage for model review, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination

ESI, an employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Junior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Kennesaw, Georgia. This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of two years of experience in the design of electrical power systems.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate electrical engineering activities for steam and power generation projects
  • Develop electrical specifications for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, and other electrical equipment as required

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Interest in the design of electrical power systems for steam and power generation facilities
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable electrical design standards
  • Ability to read electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and other typical construction drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain drawing accuracy
  • Ability to coordinate with other engineers, designers, project managers, vendors, and construction teams
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet project deadlines
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with power boilers, steam turbines, combustion turbines, and heat recovery steam generators
  • Field experience including construction, commissioning, and/or equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience using AutoCAD
  • Experience using Revit
Work Arrangement
  • Travel to the project construction site as needed throughout the duration of the project (approximately 25% travel)
