Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. is seeking a Jr. Designer L1-2 for Regional Electrical Engineering.

You will analyze systems, provide design support, and develop solutions to satisfy electric service needs. You will work with CAD tools to produce construction drawings and learn the distribution system in a collaborative team. Ideal candidates have 0-2 years design experience or an associate degree in relevant engineering tech, plus proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED with 2 years design experience.
Associate degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
Ability to interpret drawings and perform basic engineering analysis.

Responsibilities

Conduct engineering analysis to determine the adequacy of electric distribution system components.
Design projects to reinforce electric distribution system components.
Develop detailed construction drawings for installation, maintenance, modification, or removal of system components.
Use CAD to generate engineering prints and construction drawings.
Update prints to capture current system configurations.
Provide engineering support during system emergencies to restore service.
Selected candidates may be assigned to Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Westchester based on business needs.
