Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an entry-level Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant to provide environmental support across Ohio, Kentucky and Southern Indiana operations. This role focuses on learning, applying regulatory knowledge, and solving problems with supervision while developing independence and subject matter expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Science, or Engineering.
• In lieu of Bachelor's degree(s), High School/GED AND 4 year(s) related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Starts to develop and increase knowledge of the organization, procedures and assigned customers and can begin to analyze and understand information, past practices and business objectives to make appropriate recommendations to management/assigned customers.
• Assists higher level teammates on monitoring the practices of assigned organizational areas to facilitate compliance with company and regulatory policies.
• Assists with providing information/consultation to management on existing EHS programs and policies.
• Develops positive working relationships with peers, customers, employees and management to effectively complete work activities.
