Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a junior economist based in New York for the EM Edge Economics team. You will analyze macro and fundamental drivers of frontier economies, build models, and collaborate with global economists to deliver forecasts and commentary.

Responsibilities include liaising with local markets, assisting sales/trading teams, and coordinating investor events to strengthen research efforts and client insights.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of financial services experience covering frontier economies.
• Master’s degree in economics or finance preferred.
• Strong quantitative skills with forecasting capability.

Responsibilities

• Analyze macro and fundamental drivers of covered economies, producing regular research and deep-dive reports
• Create and maintain models and analytical tools for frontier economies
• Collaborate with global economists to deliver forward-looking forecasts and commentary
• Liaise with local markets (rates and FX) and credit strategists
• Interact with external institutional clients and assist internal sales and trading teams
• Organize investor trips, conferences, webinars, and maintain external relationships to enhance research efforts
