Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Dev/Sec/Ops Engineer to support NASA ground system operations by designing, securing, and maintaining software and systems that enable telemetry, tracking, and data distribution services.

You will collaborate with Agile teams on requirements, develop and test software, implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Ansible, and maintain containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift while ensuring NASA security and mission assurance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field; 2 years experience.
• Experience developing software in Linux/Unix/Windows environments.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Groovy, Kotlin, C++, or Ada.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Ansible.
• Hands-on with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Security clearance for DoD Secret and US Citizenship required.
• You must be able to access government worksite.

Responsibilities

• Support mission-critical NASA ground system operations by designing, developing, securing, integrating, and maintaining software and systems.
• Participate in requirements gathering, development, testing, and CI/CD operations.
• Implement secure, automated deployment workflows for Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Ensure compliance with NASA security, safety, and mission assurance requirements.
• Provide hands-on technical support to NASA operators and mission teams.
• Document system configurations, software changes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to improve reliability and performance.
