Job summary

William Graper Interiors is seeking a highly organized Junior Interior Designer / Design Assistant to join our Los Angeles studio. This hands-on role offers exposure to all phases of high-end residential design, from initial concepts through procurement and final installation.

The successful candidate will assist with sourcing, create AutoCAD drawings, manage budgets and timelines, coordinate with vendors and fabricators, and help maintain the studio’s sample library and project records.

Qualifications

• Assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes, and materials; obtain vendor pricing and lead times; prepare polished design presentations using Keynote or Google Slides.
• Create and update floor plans, elevations, furniture layouts, and technical drawings using AutoCAD. Assist with field measurements and documentation for design development and construction.
• Support the Principal Designer with project timelines, budgets, finish schedules, site visits, and communication with vendors, contractors, and fabricators.

Working closely with the Principal Designer, this hands-on role offers experience across all phases of high-end residential design, from initial concepts, sourcing, and technical drawings to procurement, project coordination, and final installation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• DESIGN & SOURCING: Assist with sourcing furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes, and materials; obtain vendor pricing and lead times; and prepare polished design presentations using Keynote or Google Slides.
• TECHNICAL DRAWINGS: Create and update floor plans, elevations, furniture layouts, and technical drawings using AutoCAD. Assist with field measurements and documentation for design development and construction.
• PROJECT COORDINATION: Support the Principal Designer with project timelines, budgets, finish schedules, site visits, and communication with vendors, contractors, and fabricators.
• PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS: Manage purchasing documentation, track orders, coordinate deliveries, and maintain accurate budgets and project records using Studio Designer.
• STUDIO ORGANIZATION: Maintain the studio's sample library, material inventory, and project documentation while supporting day-to-day administrative and operational needs.
• INSTALLATION SUPPORT: Assist with receiving, organizing, staging, and installing furnishings and accessories, helping ensure projects are executed smoothly from start to finish.
