Job summary

Hebeler-Howard Marten Manufacturing LLC in Tonawanda, NY is seeking a Junior Designer to support the design team. This full-time, hourly role focuses on accurate modeling and related documentation under senior designers. You will serve as a liaison between on-site production and remote design teams.

Responsibilities include creating 3D models, drafting drawings, compiling materials, and ensuring manufacturability. Some remote work is possible and travel to Canada may be required.

Qualifications

• 2-year associate degree in related field.
• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks 3D, AutoCAD, MS Word/Excel/Outlook, and PDM software.
• General knowledge of mechanical design and drawing, fluid mechanics, piping systems, tubing, hydraulic diagrams, welding techniques, and tolerances.
• Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to travel to Canada to support Port Colborne facility; travel less than 6 times per year.

• Interacting with production staff to address questions and ensure manufacturability, and document feedback.
• Assisting other departments as required for design-related tasks.
• Resolving design concerns with Project Engineers and Project Managers.
• Performing other related duties as required by management.

Description

We are looking for a Junior Designer at our Tonawanda, NY location to support the Hebeler-Howard Marten (HHM) division. This full-time, hourly position is responsible for accurate modeling and creation of associated customer and manufacturing documentation for an assigned project while working under the direction of senior designers. The incumbent will serve as point of contact between on-site production staff and remote located design team.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Some remote work is possible.

Requirements

• 2yr associates degree in related field.
• Strong knowledge and proficient in, SolidWorks 3D, AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PDM software.
• General knowledge of mechanical design & drawing, fluid mechanics, piping systems, tubing, hydraulic diagrams, welding techniques, manufacturing dimensioning and tolerances.
• Excellent oral & written communication skills and organizational skills.
• Able to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn.
• Detail oriented approach to tasks.
• Ability to travel to the Canada to support our production facility in Port Colborne, Ontario. Travel demands are expected to be less than 6 times per year.
