Job summary

Central Moloney in Colborne, Ontario, is seeking a Design Technician to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models of mechanical and electrical components using CAD tools. You will support engineering with documentation, BOMs, and manufacturing packages, while ensuring drawings meet GD&T standards and are accurate for production.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred but not required.
• 1-3 years of experience in a drafting role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment or 2 to 5 years hands-on manufacturing experience of engineered products.
• Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models of mechanical and electrical components using CAD software.
• Convert sketches and concepts into engineering drawings as required.
• Support updating part and assembly drawings for manufacture based on design changes and feedback.
