Job Title: Junior Datacenter Technician/Engineer (Contract to Perm - Local Candidates Only) **No Third Parties

Location: Multiple Datacenters within 30-mile radius

Shifts: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts (rotation required, non-traditional work week)

Position Type: Contract to Permanent Opportunity

Company: Software Product Firm

Base pay range: $25.00/hr - $40.00/hr

You'll be at the forefront of optimizing system performance and driving seamless operations in a complex infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and monitor Linux-based systems in a high-availability environment
  2. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  3. Ability to perform system patches, updates, and upgrades
  4. Assist with configuration and performance tuning of Linux Servers
  5. Collaborate with senior engineers on complex troubleshooting and system optimization
  6. Document configurations, processes, and changes
  7. Participate in a rotating shift schedule (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts) to ensure 24/7 operational coverage
  8. Work across 4 datacenters within a 30-mile radius as needed

Requirements:

  1. Basic to intermediate Linux administration skills (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu etc.)
  2. Networking Routers & Switch experience (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Mellanox etc.)
  3. Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc.)
  4. Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues
  5. Willingness to work rotating shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
  6. Ability to work in multiple datacenters within a 30-mile radius
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  8. Self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
