Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiatives across the United States. We are currently seeking a Junior Database Administrator to join our team.
Summary:
- Client Agency: Defense Logistics Agency.
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government TOP SECRET Clearance (Basic Federal Clearance requirements: U.S. Citizenship, clean criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies).
- Assist with or perform Oracle Database and Oracle EBS application administration tasks, including installation, configuration, cloning, patching (adop cycle, opatch), and upgrades.
- Support database backup and recovery procedures using tools like RMAN and Data Guard on Linux.
- Monitor database and application performance; assist with tuning using tools like AWR, ADDM, STATSPACK, EXPLAIN PLAN, SQLTRACE, and TKPROF.
- Utilize Oracle EBS R12 Applications DBA utilities for maintenance activities in a multi-node environment.
- Assist with administration and troubleshooting of EBS components such as Concurrent Managers, Programs, Request Sets, and Workflows, including Workflow Mailer issues.
- Use monitoring tools like Oracle Application Manager (OAM) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Grid Control.
- Contribute to evaluating and addressing Oracle EBS security issues, assisting with implementation of recommendations.
- Collaborate with business users and IT colleagues to support database needs.
- Ensure stability and performance of Oracle Applications instances and support capacity planning.
- Be a team player and contribute to project and support tasks, with flexibility for shifts as needed.
Requirements:
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government TOP SECRET Clearance.
- At least 2+ years of experience with database query languages such as Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration.
- Experience working on Linux and other operating systems.
- Experience on at least two projects.
- Solid understanding of Oracle Database administration concepts.
