Job summary

MissionTek Advisors seeks a Database Administrator to support Oracle 19c in a federal client environment, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability within Java web applications. You’ll work with developers, DBAs, and systems administrators to maintain uptime, patching, and schema objects.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years Oracle DBA experience, strong SQL/PLSQL, and the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. Linux/Windows knowledge and familiarity with Toad/Control tools are preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4+ years of Oracle database administration experience.
• 4+ years of experience writing SQL queries for Oracle databases.
• Experience with Linux and Windows environments preferred.
• Experience with Toad and Cloud Control/Grid Control preferred.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance (US citizenship or permanent residency).

Responsibilities

• Assists in the administration of Oracle 19c high availability and disaster recovery databases, including installation, configuration, and patching.
• Assists in the creation of tables, indexes, triggers, account management, and other DB related objects.
• Support near zero downtime database patching and upgrades.
• Support system level and database maintenances.
• Maintains data dictionary information.
• Assists in creating and maintaining DB scripts and documentation.
• Plan and coordinate security requirements alongside senior DBA and systems administrators.
• Monitors DB performance, logs, disk space and bottlenecks.
• Perform SQL code review and analysis.
• Build and execute ad-hoc queries upon request.
• Adhere to project schedules and proactively resolve or escape issues to management
• Document the system, component and interface designs and requirements to ensure future maintainability.
• Collaborate with application developers, database and systems administrators, content management and internal stakeholders
• Participate in the maintenance and deployment of projects, providing support outside normal core business hours or nights and weekends
• Provide Level II customer support via phone, e-mail and ServiceNow, supporting our customer and IT service ticketing system.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

A valuable MissionTek Advisors' federal client is seeking a qualified Database Administrator to support a robust database as a vital element of the Java web applications and is responsible for database maintenance and security measures. Their duties include monitoring software to combat potential security breaches, creating accounts, and preserving data integrity.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of our team of developers, database, and systems administrators supporting the federal end customer's PMO, a multi-award government acquisition contract focused on commercial IT products and product-based services.
