Position
Junior Data Engineer – Digital Technology Team, Collins Aerospace (Hybrid, Puerto Rico).
Responsibilities
- Plan and collaborate with technical and non‑technical teams to support multiple key business initiatives.
- Develop and manage data‑driven solutions and architectures to support reports, tools, and systems.
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis to generate actionable insights, identify trends, measure performance, and visualize disparate data sources.
- Translate proof‑of‑concept ideas into production products while working with engineering teams to improve factory productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial targets.
- Engage in the data governance council to define, develop, and review standards, guidelines, and data models that promote data quality and best practices.
Learning
- Understanding of manufacturing and supply‑chain processes.
- Data‑driven product planning, design, implementation, deployment, and sustainment within a matrixed organization.
- Foundational data sources and Key Performance Metrics for Raytheon Operations and Supply Chain.
- Design, troubleshooting, and maintenance of tasks, procedures, views, and ETL pipelines.
Qualifications – Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Experience with MRP, ERP, and MES systems (SAP preferred).
- Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing relational SQL databases.
- Experience with data cleansing, curation, mining, manipulation, and analysis from disparate systems (SQL; Python preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ETL processes using SQL as the foundation.
- Ability to understand complex systems and translate business needs into requirements.
- Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
- Self‑motivated and proactive problem solver with creative and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of database structures, modeling, and implementation such as third‑normal form.
- Experience with Python and libraries such as Pandas for advanced analytics.
- Experience with configuration control (GitHub preferred) and DataDevOps practices using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Snowflake Streams, Stages, and Snowpipes for data ingestion.
- Experience with VS Code and GitHub Desktop for integrated development.
- Experience with web‑application relational database models and APIs.
- Knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning methods.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with advanced Excel, pivot tables, and Power Query.
- Experience with manufacturing, operations, and/or supply‑chain processes and systems.
